Specialists have developed an infographic that summarizes the possibilities for following a gastric protection regimen, the so-called soft diet, opening the range to new foods beyond the most common.
Nutritionists Aitor Sánchez and Lucía Martínez want to end these topics and open the menu to other foods that help the digestive system work as little as possible.
They warn, of course, that this type of therapeutic diet, for easy digestion that is not easy to chew, must always be prescribed by a health professional.
They also warn that it is general advice and that each case should be taken into account individually depending on the circumstances and needs of each patient.
General recommendations of the soft diet
In addition to food, it is important to follow a series of recommendations when cooking and eating the foods that are allowed for the soft diet, remember rice is not the only opcion:
- Eat small amounts several times a day
- That the food is warm
- Cook with little salt, no seasonings and little oil
- Chew well and eat slowly
- Rest for a while after meals
- Foods that are included and those that are excluded
These are the foods that are included and how they should be consumed, as well as those that should be avoided for easier digestion. In case of consuming a vegetarian diet, the foods of the soft diet must be adapted this way.
