Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus), also known as nanca, nanjea or panaés or jackfruit tree is the national fruit of Bangladesh and Indonesia.

It originates from a type of tree from southwestern India and the eastern peninsula of Malaysia. Currently it’s cultivated in the Antilles and America. It’s a fruit with a very exotic appearance and full of benefits for y body.


The flavors of banana, mango, peach, melon, pineapple, orange, and kiwi are experienced by trying a jackfruit smoothie, also known as the seven-flavored fruit.

This fruit is very common in Southeast Asian kitchens. The pulp inside is yellow color and has a taste between sweet and sour. Jackfruit seeds are also edible and are rich in carbohydrates, lipids and proteins.

The nutritional and medicinal capacity of this fruit is wonderful. Some are that it can increase magnesium levels, improve immunity, promote good digestion, control blood pressure levels and promote collagen production due to its high content of vitamin C. These factors are so important that it is currently a fruit that recommended by  World Health Organization (WHO).
