Ginger. A little big ally in your home

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is a plant of the Zingiberáceae family, along with cardamom and turmeric and grows as a rhizome.

It is produced in India, Jamaica, Fiji, Indonesia, and Australia.

Ginger gives flavor to different dishes since its use is more and more frequent in the kitchen. It can be presented as a syrup preserve and crystallized.


In western cuisine, its dry or powdered use is common, since it provides the kitchen with a certain exotic aroma, sometimes even spicy, another of the properties of ginger.

It is also indicated for sweet dishes, such as cakes, desserts, caramelized fruits, sorbets, etc.

I use it especially for meat, fish and salads. I take a fine grater and run the root through it a few times.
