What properties does the Zucchini have?

Zucchini is a special plant that belongs to the group of pumpkins which has a great variety. It is native to the South of North America although currently, it is cultivated in various parts of the world.

It is one of the great protagonists of our Mediterranean diet. Zucchini is part of stews, salads and all kinds of recipes.

Zucchini is low in calories (about 15 Cal). This food contains 95% water, it also has fiber and minerals such as calcium, potassium, sodium, phosphorus and magnesium.

It is a source of Omega-3 fatty acids that is essential for our body and also has carotenoids that generate anti-inflammatory properties.

Due to its fiber content, it improves intestinal transit and prevents constipation.

 It has vitamin C, a source of antioxidant agents, which is responsible for reducing blood pressure. It also helps lower cholesterol levels and lowers the risk of atherosclerosis.

It plays an important role in the cosmetic and beauty area, since due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties it is used to reduce dark circles, fight acne, hair loss and much more.

On the other hand, vitamin A helps maintain healthy skin and combat free radicals that are responsible for skin aging.

Its content of vitamins C and A in zucchini fight hair wear and tear and prevents dry scalp.
