Stress, fever or excess environmental heat are circumstances that make almost all of us sweat more, but in some people the production of sweat is excessive and occurs almost continuously, and more so with the summer heat.
Hyperhidrosis is a difficult problem to hide because it "jumps out" and also usually leads to an increase in body odor even when trying to maintain good hygiene.
For the armpits there are deodorants with an antiperspirant effect, but since they contain chemical substances that accumulate in the body, it is not advisable to use them more than twice a day. Keep in mind that they can cause allergies, so you have to try them in a small amount before applying them to the armpits.
If you prefer to resort to natural and less aggressive remedies to end excess sweat, some plants such as the ones we point out below can be helpful.
Internal use
- Holm oak: Infusion of 20 grams of oak leaves and 20 grams of birch leaves for each liter of water. Boil for eight minutes. Take two glasses a day. Holm oak also helps fight inflammation of the intestine, indigestion and diarrhea.
- Salvia: Infusion of a teaspoon of dried plant for each glass of water. Take two glasses a day. This plant also fights throat and respiratory infections in general (sore throat, aphonia, pharyngitis, laryngitis), due to its bactericidal properties.
External use
- Cypress: It is especially effective in combating excess sweat on the feet. You have to cook three tablespoons of dry branches for three minutes for each liter of water and immerse your feet in this water.
The cypress is also beneficial to relieve varicose veins and phlebitis, due to its vasoconstrictor action. Its tannins have healing and anti-hemorrhagic action.
Blacksmith for hot flashes
Black cohosh extract, a plant traditionally used for the treatment of various gynecological disorders such as premenstrual syndrome or postpartum pain, has been shown to moderately reduce menopausal hot flashes, which lead to a significant increase in sweating.
The relief is greater in those women who have more severe hot flashes. The extract of this plant is taken in the form of pharmaceutical preparations.
