The infusions that we provide below are ideal to combat insomnia, and we prepare them with five medicinal plants which have the appropriate medicinal properties for this purpose.

1. Hop

Hops, in addition to relaxing properties that help us sleep, are also ideal for calming the stomach and facilitating digestion.

We will prepare this infusion with a tablespoon of hops for each cup of water and boil it. We turn off the heat, cover the infusion and let it rest for 10 or 12 minutes.

We strain it and sweeten it with a little honey. We will take this infusion half an hour before going to sleep.

2. Valerian

Valerian is an infusion and a supplement that is used to reduce anxiety, but it also helps sleep. It acts as a mild sedative, thanks to its phytochemicals that affect the brain and produce relaxation.

You only need two cups of water and two teaspoons of fresh or dried valerian root. You can use it whole or pulverize the roots to powder. Heat the water (without boiling), as excess heat can remove the nutrients from this drink.

Add the root and cover; wait up to 30 minutes until well infused. Strain and sweeten to taste.
 

3. Mint infusion

Peppermint is a medicinal plant highly valued for its medicinal properties.

To prepare this infusion we need 5 mint leaves for each cup of water.

4. Lavender

5. Orange blossom infusion

We strain the infusion and sweeten it with a little honey, or with any other sweetener you prefer.
