“La Tomatina” that triumphed in Bollywood

“La Tomatina” is a festival that takes place in Buñol, Spain. In this celebration, the participants throw tomatoes at each other for the sole purpose of having fun. It normally lasts one hour and is a tradition that has been going on since 1944.

This celebration became famous in India, after the premiere of the film “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (You Only Live Once)”, which a few days after its premiere became a blockbuster.

Not only the movie was a hit, but also the song “Senorita” became famous in India.

Thanks to the success of the film, this Spanish holiday has become an infallible tourist destination for film-loving travelers of India, as they could achieve the dream of living what is reflected in the film.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, tells the story of three young people who go on vacation to Spain to fulfill a promise and dismiss the single status of one of them.

They participate in the "La Tomatina" festival throwing tomatoes in Buñol, in the running of the bulls in Pamplona and end up dancing flamenco.

The film was released in India on July 15, 2011 and swept the Filmfare Awards 2012, it won the award for best film, best direction, best dialogue, best supporting actor, best film for critics, best cinematography and best choreography.

According to a report published by the Spanish Institute of Tourism, in the same year that the film received Bollywood recognition, the European country received 27,000 tourists; all of them from India.
