Coconut and walnut burfi. excellent option to do at home

It's a sweet of Indian cuisine. It is a delicious recipe based on sugar and milk that can be combined with nuts and some types fruits.

There are many varieties of burfi, such as besan burfi (made with chickpea flour or besan), kaaju burfi (made with cashew nuts) and pista burfi (milk burfi with ground pistachio)


Today we will explain how to make a delicious coconut burfi, ideal to share with the family and with the littles at home.


Step by Step

  1. Heat the pan and add a little oil.
  2. Place the Ghee with the hot oil and the chopped cashews (or pistachios). When they are golden, place them on a plate.
  3. Now add the coconut and milk to the pan. Mix well until boiling over medium heat.
  4. Now reduce the flame and cook until the milk evaporates.
  5. Then add the sugar and cook until dry.
  6. Stir constantly until mixture is dry and comes out of the pan.
  7. Press down on the mixture with a spatula to check if it is completely dry.
  8. Keep cooking and mixing continuously until the mixture is thick, thick, and sticky. It also gets very aromatic and comes out of the pan easily. If you want a softer Burfi remove it a little before.
  9. Now transfer the mixture to a greased pan and press with the spatula.
  10. Add the walnuts and let it rest at room temperature to set.
  11. Now that it will be much drier, cut it into squares and leave it at room temperature for 0 to 10 hours.
  12. Chill and store in an airtight jar.
