Peshwari naan has a very special and delicate flavor, since in addition to coconut, raisins are often added

This dish originally from India differs from roti that if it has yeast and is baked in a wood or clay oven, which gives the characteristic flavor to this typical Hindu bread.

  1. Mix the flour, yeast and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add the yogurt and water and make a dough.
  3. Put the dough on a floured surface and knead until it is a smooth and elastic dough.
  4. Roll into a ball, cover it with a cloth, and let it sit for an hour.
  5. Meanwhile, put the ingredients for the filling in a blender and mix until you get a paste.
  6. Add the raisins when you have it crushed.
  7. When the dough has settled and doubled in volume, divide it into six equal parts and roll into balls.
  8. Flour the work surface well, stretch each ball with the roller in a circumference.
  9. Fill the dough with the coconut filling and close it like a cake.
  10. Now, very carefully, flatten a little with your hand or roller giving it the typical round shape of the Hindu naan.
  11. Repeat the process for the rest of the naans.
  12. In a very hot skillet, drizzle a little vegetable oil and cook one by one, 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
